Notes
Nut Brown was a blend of pipe tobacco sold in Britain during the mid-20th century and signs like this were typically displayed outside tobacconists, either as fascia panels or hanging shop signs. The slogan “Has that Nutty Flavour” was Nut Brown's best-known catchphrase used by tobacconists to make blends sound richer and more appealing.
Condition Natural wear on edges and around mounting holes where some professional restoration has taken place. Otherwise, strong red background, bold black-and-white lettering, checkerboard border. Reverse side shows natural oxidation, spotting, and some enamel “ghosting” where the heat-fused enamel left patterns typical of genuine signs.
