Spratt’s, founded by James Spratt in London in 1860 is the pioneering British animal food manufacture and inventors of the world’s first commercial pet foods (dog biscuits, bird seed, etc.). This sign was made by British Enamel Co. London” and would have been designed to grab attention on a wall outside a grocer’s, seed merchant’s, or pet shop.

Condition Minor rusting and enamel loss at the edges and fixing points, but retains excellent central colour and legibility including Bruton Palmers Green manufacture mark
